Wolfenstein - Cert 18 - XBOX 360
You play BJ a World War II hero amongst heroes. The video open ups with you be on a ship surrounded by germans, you are in disguise but soon become discovered, this leads to an epic opening scene that looks like something from a Hollywood studio. Let the fun commence..... You start out with basic abilities and weapons, that aid you in taking out the German troops. You soon discover the core premise of the game which is based around "Dark / Esoteric Matter". As you progress you will be drawn in to a world that has a darker meaning. One which enables you to see through the earthly veil into what's underneath. This gives you greater insight into hidden / secret paths that you need to take to defeat the enemy. Also you will learn how to slow / stop time, a perk that has been used in many games and which offers no real surprises. Our overall impressions are that the look and feel to this game are not disimilar to Call of Duty 2. Even the star on the compass has been used. This gives the game a somewhat second hand feel, which is bizarre after all the hype about this title coming out. We would have expected a game that was built from the ground up and not one that seemed to be peaced together. The multiplayer part to the game feels like an add-on / last thought. Bearing in mind that the it was a different studio that developed this part of the game and you can see why the Single Player and Multiplayer do not seem to "gel" nicely. We rented this title as there are now a multitude of AAA games starting to come through. We would consider buying this as we can see that this title will be one that we wouldn't mind going back to from time to time. We wouldn't expect to see this winning any trophies or awards, but as shooters go it is nowhere near to be considered as the worse one that we can witnessed. Overall we rate this title 7/10 |
