| Has Infinity Ward sold out to the consoles on its latest Call of Duty game? News is starting to filter through on the internet about the abscence of Dedicated Servers for the up and coming title Modern Warfare 2 for the PC market. What does this mean? Well it means that the Multiplayer aspect of the game will be controlled by the person that has the best connection. So LAG (latency issue) will be prevalent and there will be no way around it. It appears that IW have decided to concentrate on the console version of the game and are ditching the original gamers who supported IW right from the outset with Call Of Duty 1 which was PC only. If this is true and IW do not provide either dedicated servers or a way for gamers to setup there own dedicated servers with server files, then this may be the final straw for Call of Duty on the PC platform. *Considering that the PC version is being delayed a full 2 weeks after the console release, this is yet another kick in the teeth for the PC gamer. *update according to fourzerotwo the PC version should be released the same time as the console version (thanks to Benny Machete for the details). |
